William Higginbotham, III, MD

William Higginbotham, III, MD, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is a general orthopedist with a focus on total knee and hip replacements. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed his residency at Metropolitan Group Hospitals of Northwest Detroit, where he was Chief Resident. While living in Alabama, he served as the team physician for Tuskegee University Athletic Department and as a consultant to Alabama State University.

In 1986 he returned to Detroit. Since his return he is active in teaching residents through DMC and Providence. He was the Vice-Chief for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Grace Hospital and served as the division head for the Woodland Medical Group. Dr. Higginbotham has been recognized for his work and teachings by: "Guide to Top Orthopedists" and "Guide to Top Physicians." Dr. Higginbotham has also had the honor of being noted one of the "Top Docs" several times by "Hour Detroit Magazine."
