John P. O'Hara, III, MD

John P. O'Hara, III, MD, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is a general orthopedist, but does not perform surgery. He obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan. He then completed an internship at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill and an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Following his residency he went on to study at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, England.

During Dr. O'Hara's thirty years at the Porretta Center, he has been very involved with numerous associations. He has served as Section Chief for Orthopaedic Surgery, Chairman of the research committee, President of the Providence Medical Group, President of Medical Staff, and past President of the Detroit Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is involved in various publications and research studies. Dr. O'Hara is very active in the non-operative treatment of most orthopaedic conditions.
